We have an extensive history with the LGBTQ community that began back in 1976 when Jon and Steve Crovo opened The Hub, eventually becoming Club 122O. The new owners, Holotta Tymes and Robert, along with Vicodonia Knightingale, bought Club 1220 in March 2020, to save this safe place for our community. We wanted to ensure the legacy of the bar and what it means to the LGBTQ community of Walnut Creek and the greater East Bay area. Club 1220 is the only LGBTQ bar in Contra Costa County, so your search for a “gay bar near me” will lead you right here!

Changing the ownership of a Walnut Creek gay bar right before the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, to say the least. However, the reason we wanted to purchase the bar shined through. With amazing support through Go Fund Me donations and other help from the LGBTQ community, we have been able to stay open and continue providing a fun and safe environment with great service and fabulous entertainment. We take great measures to ensure everyone at our Walnut Creek gay bar is safe from COVID-19 and we appreciate the participation of these efforts from our customers so we can continue to operate.*

We host weekly events to entertain our customers, like Karaoke Night, our monthly Drag Bingo, live DJs and of course, Holotta’s UnBoyLievable Drag Show.
